I am searching for info on Jake Files, a Jessie's Scout who lived near Jones'Spring,Berkeley County, W.Va. Sometime during the war, Files captured some Confederates along Back Creek between Glengary and Winchester. After the war, these men came back for revenge and there was a shootout at Files's house. At least one Rebel, a lieutenant from Richmond, was killed. The officers family came from Richmond and claimed his body.
