How do I find information on the death of my Great-grandfather. His name was William Sanford Echols and he served in Company B 86 VA Militia Confederate Army and also served in Company H.
All that I know is that he died in the war in 1864.

Could someone please help me. He enlisted in Giles County, VA on August 5, 1861.
