I was unable to find an "F. Shaw", as well; however, I did find the following gentlemen with the middle initial "F".

Both the 22nd and 29th Virginia Inf. had men from modern-day West Virginia. Company C of the 22nd Infantry the "Mountain Cove Guards" was from Fayette County.
