Re: Capt Cooke's Battery, Stafford Light Artillery

Dave,

I am a descendant of Charles h Ennis. His father was George Ennis and Thomas E Ennis was his brother who also served with the Stafford Light. Charles was married to Catherine Randall. He enlisted 8/9/61. He was hospitalized 11/17/64 for carditis. Based on this date I think its more likely that he was injured in Gen Early's Washington raid then the Wilderness. He is buried in Spotsylvania's Confederate cemetary Virginia section row A. His brother Thomas survived the war and is also buried in the Cemetery when he died in the early 1900's. Most of the information I have comes from the service records as well as the book "The Caroline Light, Parker and Stafford Light Virginia Artillery" by Homer Musselman.
