Debbie,

I did some checking on A.J. Wood in the book 19th Virginia Infantry by Ervin L. Gordon, Jr. and Herbert A. Thomas, Jr. This book is part of The Virginia Regimental History Series. According to the book Company F was recruited from Albermarle County. In the biographical section A. J. Wood was listed with an enlistment date of March 1, 1862. The biographical section also said he died of wounds from Williamsburg on May 5, 1862. In his service record the register of soldiers who died in combat, from wounds, or disease his name is listed as Andrew J Wood.
