John Lady

I am researching a John Lady who is buried in Athens County, Ohio. His burial marker reads: " John Lady , a rebel deserter of the Rebel Army, fled north and lived in a cabin in section 22, town 11, range15. He was court-marshalled and sentenced to death. An officer was dispatched to carry out the order which he did and Mr.Lady lies buries in here." I have identified three confederate soldiers of the name John Lady, all John F. Lady; one a major/colonel with the 20th Regiment, Virginia Caverly: one a lieutenant with the 27th Regiment,Virginia Caverly, and one a lieutenant with the 36th Battalion, Virginai Caverly. I also identified a private J.R. Lady with the 1 North Carolina Cavalry(State Troops). However my research indictes his name may be Jacob R. Lydu.

The only John Lady I have not been able to find anything on is the John F. Lady with the 36th Battalion, Virigina Caverly. I believe I have eliminated the other John Ladys with the other regiments. Does anyone have any information on the John Lady with the 36th and whether he may be the deserter or the others which I may have mistaken over looked.

Thank you.
