I've searched for specifics on hospitals in Palmyra with no luck as of yet. The hospitals in Richmond are well documented and I was hoping to be able to back track from there to Palmyra or Charlottesville as they would have been more of a staging or triage facility with the soldier probably being moved to Richmond. No luck yet but I'm still looking. One of my ancestors from the 34th NC Infantry was moved from Richmond (Chimborazzo) to Lynchburg in 1862 afetr being wounded in the Peninsula Campaign. He died shortly after being moved and is buried in Lynchburg's Old City Cemetery.
