Re: Manassas National Battlefield Bypass

I attended the MNBP Bypass meeting and was deeply disappointed in seeing that all of the concepts go down Pageland Lane. There is less than a mile between the Manassas National Battlefield Park and The Conway Robinson Forrest Park (this park was donated by the family of a Washington DC Judge after his death in 1936). It has a large strand of pines donated by the DAR and the Daughters of the Confederacy; this was a 1940 donation so they are large and beautiful.
Across Annie Snyder’s property is a trail that leads from the Conway Robinson to MNBP this is all a very historic area that will sustain damage if a 4 lane highway is allow to be built. I was taking pictures of the different concepts with my digital when I was told that I could pick up the JGP from the Internet site, (http://www.battlefieldbypass.com/) I was unable to raise the JGPS. But please visit the site and write or call or write Frank Wolf. Living in Prince William County isn't necessary. All that is needed is you to love Civil War History and know that the Manassas National Battlefield is in danger all in the name of progress
