I do not know if the Archivists will investigate by phone, mail, internet, etc. You might want to post this query on The Civil War News & Views message board. Or call the Archives yourself.

My experience with these patient registers is they are difficult to review. They are found in large ledgers, written in old world cursive, and many times faded making review difficult.

And then, when you locate your information, there is not much to be found other than dates of entry, discharge, aliment, etc.

I am aware there are professional researchers who will visit and conduct searches for you at cost. Again, the News & Views folks might know how to reach them.
