Thank you for your work. I'm looking for information about James W Lansdown, my great great grandfather who served in company E, 42nd INF and was killed at Cedar run. His widow listed him as serving in Jack Deyerly's company of Jackson's corp. Family lore has him being killed ar 2nd Manassas. Information reaching Roanoke must have lumped the entire campaign together. I know he was working as a carpenter in Salem before the war. But would be very interested in any information you have. I assume he fell at the edge of the wheat field but is there any info about where the men of co e were buried?
