Prior to your response, I was thinking he had died in 1861, which led me to believe his death may have been war-related. Now I am not sure. Do you have any thoughts on this? Do you think the Civil War record could be incorrect, or his tombstone? It seems likely they are the same person since "Private, Company B, 2nd Battalion Reserves Infantry" applies to both.
