Friends - I am currently working on a book on the 39th Battalion Virginia Cavalry, also known as Lee's Body Guard, Lee's Headquarters' Guard, Ewell's Body Guard or Richardson's Battalion of Guides, Scouts, and Couriers. I am looking for copies of letters, diaries, reminiscences, families stories, and photographs related to this battalion. I have already been through the Compiled Service Records from the National Archives for this battalion, and I have the book by Driver and Rulfner. I also have the Lupton letters, Franklin Walter's Diary, the Thomas Paul letter, the Catlett C. Taliaferro letters found in the John W. Daniel Papers, the Hite letters, and a few other accounts.
