Article in Charlotte Observer dated Oct 6, 1902 pg 8. Article is about one of the last surviving crew members of the CSS Virginia/Merrimac. William Tetterton volunteered transfer from the army to the navy. Article stated he went aboard the boat at Brooks Station Virginia, nine miles south of Fredericksburg. The fact is the Merrimac was never there. Reading the post here Brooks Station was not in that location.
