In addition, Captain Samuel Brown later was assigned to the VA 39th Battalion Calvary, R.E. Lee's personal comand unit.

He is laid to rest 50 yards south of the unknown CSA soldiers grave site in that particular cemetary in Fort Valley,Georgia
