Rick,

The Dept of Western Virginia contained units other than Virginia Units in Sept. 1862. There were also units from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. But if you are only interested in the Virginia outfits, here are some of them. I'm sure there are more but these are off the top of my head.

INFANTRY REGIMENTS

22nd, 29th, 36th, 45th, 50th, 51st, 54th, 60th, 63rd

INFANTRY BATTALIONS

21st, 23rd, 26th, 29th, 30th(Sharpshooters)

CAVALRY REGIMENTS

8th, 14th

CAVALRY BATTALIONS

Caldwell's, Ferguson's, Baldwin's

ARTILLERY

Chapman's(Monroe "Dixie") Battery, Bryan's( Monroe, "Lewisburg") Battery, Lowry's(Centreville Rifles) Battery, Walker's(Richmond Otey) Battery, Dickenson's(Ringold) Battery, Davidson's(Lynchburg) Battery, Jeffress's(Nottoway) Battery

As I previously stated there are other units, but these come to mind at this time.
