Spencer Riddle was the blacksmith of "Riddle's Shop" fame. His shop was at (very near) Glendale crossroad. His shop was a land mark for the battle of Glendale. I have seen his name spelled Riddell's on a union map somewhere. The yanks often misspelled local names.
