Thanks for the insight. Since GWC Lee seems to have been quite interested in the ladies, at least during this period in his life, was there any specific reason, other than his responsibility in the care of his mother and sisters during his father's absences that he never married? Most sources say he was very courtly, incredibly handsome, and would have been considered quite a "catch". Or did his lack of an inheritance, being that Arlington was stolen from the Lee family have a bearing on the matter?
