Good post Johnny. Your facts are dead on. Jack Daniels filters it's whiskey through charcoal. Hence it's not bourbon. Makers Mark sells it's used barrels to Scotch distillers abroad as their standards don't require new oak for their barrels. I spent a while in Kentucky last fall. The art of bourbon making is true Americana. Gunpowder"proofing" dates to the early 1700s.
