Family Bible - a lot depends on who puts the information in and when. When checking the Bible, check the date of publication. If it is newer than the oldest date listed [Bible published 1940 and oldest birth date is 1832] then you know someone put the information in sometime in 1940 or later and it may not be reliable.

Have you checked courthouse records where he was born, where he lived and where he died? Those are the ones you want to find.
