I think that the Martin L Barr that you mention must be an entirely different person. The Martin that I am looking for was Martin VanBuren Barr. These Barr brothers all lived on the TN/VA border so they probably enlisted in a unit from SW VA.
Not sure what part of VA that the 2nd VA mustered.

Is there any way to take a look at the original records? If so, I might be able to make out the name or at least a letter or two and see if it might look like Martin. Just a thought.
