Confederate prisoners from Missouri wouldn't have been taken to Virginia for imprisonment, and no prisoner-of-war camp existed at Culpeper VA. The battlefield at Brandy Station remained in Confederate hands after the fighting, so it couldn't have been used by the Federals for any purpose.

If this man died in a Federal prisoner of war camp, the information would be found in his military service file. It can be ordered here --
