I am looking for information on Albert Harrison Pettigrew, who is listed in the CSA records as being part of the 39th Battalion, Virginia Cavalry.
He was born about 1841, in Botetourt County, Virginia. He was a member of the Class of 1864 at VMI, which has a letter which he wrote to General Lee November 25 1862. In the letter, his rank is listed as Captain.
I am thinking he was killed during or died soon after the war. He's not mentioned in any of the Census after 1860.
Does anyone have any information on him?
