Does anyone know what might have happened to the body of a SC War Between the States infantryman (12th Regiment, private rank), who fought in the Winchester area and wound up in Ashland, VA hospital? where he died in 1862? I cannot find his burial site in SC.......although he asked to be buried in Ruff Chapel in Fairfield, Co. Where there specific cemeteries used for the dead of certain hospitals?....are there interment cards with info available.......Where would the death have been recorded?.......Anyone, please help........direct at ljp58172@verizon...thank you, folks
