Alan,

That's a great print. I have one in my living room. Only because I know you and I are sticklers for detail will I point out that those 4 bronze tube guns are 1841 six pound smoothbores. The were the guns from the VMI Parade Ground. Pendleton's cannoneers (Poague's 1st Rockbridge Artillery) named the guns before the battle of First Mannassas. The red carriages were characteristic of The Cadet Battery at VMI. The tubes were cast slightly lighter than normal 6 pounders to make them easier to move during field instruction. They are also unique in that they have The Virginia State Seal cast into the tops of the barrels just in front of the vent holes. They are on display at VMI now. I was in Lexington two weeks ago and the tubes have been dismounted probably for maintainence but the carriages are there.
