Dan,

Yes, I have a copy. My Ggrand Uncle, John T. Massey is listed on p. 88 of Kirks' book. He enlisted in "Co. B" Caroline Light Dragoons, 9th VA Cav. in March of 1862. He transfered from the 9th VA Cav. to the Caroline Light Artillery in late 1863 because his mount was killed in battle and he could not replace the horse. I have a copy of his "service record" from the National Archives via "Broadfoot". It does include his transfer papers and a copy of his Parrol certificate dated April 28, 1865 at Ashland, VA. I am a SCV member here in AZ and John T. Massey is "my relative" of record.

I also have a bound copy of R.L.T. Beales' "History of the 9th..." printed 1998. I am currently writing, with another scholar and an artist, a more complete work about the 9th. For this reason, we are looking for copies of letters from troopers in the 9th VA as well as those of the Union forces who fought against them.
