The Virginia in the Civil War Message Board

Re: "With Lee Through Virginia"

Duncan, this web site belongs to the incompetent researcher whom I advised about, named Jim Gray. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of the Civil War can see the numerous mistakes in his biographies. He was the person who ordered the headstone for Graydon, which was incorrectly describing him as belonging to the Missouri Light Artillery, because we managed to find out that this John Graydon was actually buried in Missouri. The family of the John Graydon, who is buried in Australia were so distraught about the incorrect data shown at Gray's web site, but the headstone still stands there, because it is too costly to remove. Jim Gray has had other gravestones ordered and delivered from the Veterans Administration which are totally incorrect, including one for a Confederate sailor who is not buried in Australia, yet he ordered a headstone for another person of the same name, buried in Queensland. We have all the evidence of this incompetence.
Please do not place any reliance on Jim Gray's biographies, as there are hundreds and hundreds of errors and totally incorrect assumptions. We, members of the Civil War Round Table of Australia, will be glad to show the evidence of this incompetence. Unfortunately, too many people, like yourself, are all unaware of his incompetent research.
