As a descendant of Latané you can find them every 6 months or so - if you know where to look and are discreet.
For example, a lithograph produced in the early part of the century sold at auction in Boston last month for $600.00.
Similarly, a lithograph owned by a descendant in Texas (he had two) sold for $1,500.00 about 9 months ago - also by an arts dealer.
If you want one - they can be found and it shouldn't take 10 years. You can walk into many of the older homes between Richmond, the Northern Neck and the beach - and see them on the walls - ultimately finding their way into estate sales.
You never know, you might be able to strike up a deal with the owner – if you know your history well enough. Many are handed down to children.
Happy hunting!
