Hello, John. My great great grandfather John Calvin Rouse 1830->1904 served with the 48th Virginia and is listed in your well researched and presented regimental history. John Calvin also received an honorable discharge from the 3rd North Carolina US, which he joined in 1864 in a company in which his brother James was a sergeant serving until war's end. James had four young sons at home in Bristol which greatly needed his support. After serving vallantly in the 48th in several major battles, he had had enough after Gettysburg.
