Actually, I have the present/absent muster roll in which Jefferson appears on the November/December ticket as present as well as his widow's pension paper. I was just unsure if there might be another record of the soldiers before Sharpsburg. I dont know if, having signed up on October 23rd 1862, he would have been sent directly to the front or if travel at that time would have gotten him to his unit in time to participate in the action at Sharpsburg. Also, if anyone has any recomendations as to where I should look for court records regarding his imprisonment Id be interested to hear about it. Ive checked the records of Confederate courtmartials and havent found his. Could he have been tossed in without trial? Im no expert and dont know how strict the Confederacy was with such things.
