Linda,

I looked at his service record as I have countless thousands for Hollywood Cemetery. We know that soldiers who died at Winder Hospital were interred in Hollywood. The death date matches the entry for W.A Wright and there is no soldier with the surname Wright in the 11th NC that died on Oct. 4, 1864 (his service record death date).

I have a composite listing of all the Richmond based dead for the 11th NC (as I do for all NC soldiers) and there is no question ALBRIGHT is the soldier buried under the name of Wright.

His name also appears in an unpublished ledger of Confederate dead interred in Hollywood at the Museum of the Confederacy. In that ledger, the surname appears as Allright, W. A.--same death date. An A was easily transposed when it was actually an S!
