Your ancestor has a 4-page Compiled Military Service Record which includes a muster roll listing for July through December of 1863 and two (2) clothing receipts for Aug. 1863 and April 1864. On one of the receipts he signed with an "X". I presume he could not read or write.

There are three (3) Reynolds in the 51st Virginia Infantry, Johnson, George W. and William A.

There is also a reference to a state muster roll with an A. B. Reynolds as a member of the 3rd Virginia Reserves, a militia unit.

I do not see a Virginia Confederate pension for this man. There is a death record for him in 1879.
