Francis C. Renneau--
Appears as "Frank C. Reneau" on the 1860 Census of Ponotoc County, Mississippi, age 12, born in Mississippi. According to family files, his father was George Green Reneau, a native of Alabama. His mother was Tennessee native Emily Whitly Clark. According to the 1860 Slave Schedule, the Reneau family owned 25 slaves.

Herman Shewmake--
Appears as "Herman C. Shewmake" on the 1860 Census of Burke County, Georgia, age 11, born in Georgia. His father was listed as "merchant and planter" Oscar L. Shewmate, born circa 1813. His mother was "Susan M.", age 29. The family owned 9 slaves.

The following article is about his uncle, Oscar Lane Shewmate. It mentions his father and brother Edwin F. Shewmate who also appears on the 1860 Census.
