George, actually this is what started me in search of Keene's burial site, as I have this article, as well as the one from the same date issue of the RICHMOND DAILY EXAMINER (which gives some slightly additional data on Keene), and I am currently in the process of writing up an article on his tragic death. I have not been able to locate any proper data on him, from the 1850 or 1860 U.S. census, though, unfortunately, as his mother was stated to be living on Eighteenth Street, and also data to show that he had originally come from Washington, and he had also been pilot aboard two Richmond steamers, before being appointed into the CS Navy.
