Hi Terry,

Great website! A tip of the cap to you for the time and effort tou are investing in this worthy project.

Is your Neil H. Sterling the man [boy] appearing on the 1860 Census of Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina as "N. H. Sterling", age 14, born in Virginia, son of Professor Richard Sterling? I could not find him in your "Confederate States Navy and Marine Corps Personnel, N-S" listing. What was his tale?

If Professor Richard Sterling is his father, the following links may be of interest. If not, they are interesting tidbits of the American experience.
