I have a grandson who is going to Gettysburg College next year. He is a real Civil War enthusiast and has been to several reenactments. Since I live in Indiana and had one Great-great-grandfather in the Union Army and one in the Confederate Army, I often wondered if they ever met in battle. I discovered that my Union relative never saw any action due to illness contracted in camp. However, my grandson's paternal G-g-g-ggrandfather was in the 7th Indiana which met the 42nd Virginia at Gettyusburg.
