Okay - it's a bit of a stretch -- but I'm going to say he was probably still living with the Angle family on the farm in Salem and somehow just got left off the census. There are other problems. The 1850 Census says that Daniel Angle was age 46 and Lucy [Lucie] was 35; in 1860 it says they are both 40. Maybe it depends on who the census taker was getting his information from, because in 1860 they are both 40 - probably should be 56 and 45 respectively.

Also, what was the relationship between Samuel Jenkins and the Angle family? Were they related or did the Angle's just hire him on as hired help? If so, did his family live in the Salem/Roanoke/Campbell County area?
