Glad to see the forum appears to be back.
I am searching for a David Cook from Tazewell VA who died prior to 1870, most likely during the ACW. Some evidence has him in the Co I, 26th Va, not sure if Cav or Inf. I have Armstrong's book on the 26th VA Cav, but find no David Cook. Thanks for any help. I do know Cook's brother in law (my GG grandfather) Samuel McGuire served in the 47th VA Cav that was later absorbed into the 26th under W.L. Mudwall Jackson.
