Colonel Doane CSA

During the battle of Fair Oaks , 1st June 1862, the 81st Pa was fired on by a Confederate regiment, which the Colonel of the 81st Pa had mistaken for a Union regiment .

In a letter to his sister Lt. Phillips of the 81st wrote :
“…..Some of the rebel wounded say that he (The Colonel of the Confederate regiment) gave his name as Colonel Doane, (which it was) but we understood him “Owen”, and as Owen is the name of the Colonel of the 69th P.V., who were not far from us, we supposed that there was some change in the programme and that they were being deployed to our front”

Does anyone know which regiment Colonel Doane commanded at Seven Pines/Fair Oaks?
