Re: Names of Confederate Civil War Veterans

John,
Did you look at the entry in Find-a-grave? It lists that Clifton Hill as a member of the 42nd VA. Is it possible that there were two men with the same name in the 42nd? I have not been able to find an obituary notice or cemetery entry for Clifton Hill here in Montgomery County. That is strange since he merited a note in the History of Montgomery County of 1881. I have that book and feel bad that I did not look for that entry on Clifton Hill. I have found his wife Hattie's obituary and two sons Cecil and Otto. I have not gotten to the library to read the full obituary yet. I will do that next week. I will keep looking to try and resolve this puzzle. Any help you give would be appreciated.
Bill
