Chris, the late John R. Meyer was the Strange family historian. He wrote a book on the Alloway Strange family, the family of James M. and his brother John Bowie Strange. His sister can, or at least used to be, reachable at the arapacana press website, email mail@arapacana.com.

The 1911 book on the Strange family says James M. died in Norfolk. It is not the most reliable work I've seen.
