Re: Harrison's Landing
In Response To: Harrison's Landing ()

The OR Atlas index points to Plates 13-1 & 2; 17-1; and 19-1 for Harrison's Landing. However, the latter two sets of Plates refer to Harrison Point only.

Nonetheless, the homesteads nearby correlate well with the Harrison Landing depicted on Plates 13.

I would thereby believe that their boat backtracked some 3.5 miles down river from City Point to Harrison's Point/Landing. This is some 9 miles distance from Dutch Gap to the West.

Harrison's Point is on the North bank of the river some 8 miles West from Charles City Court House.

Jordan's Point and Light House is on the opposite side of the river.

I do not have available any large scale maps of the area to pinpoint it's present day position.
