John Mangus admitted to Howard's Grove Hospital, Richmond, May 9, 1863 with gunshot wound to the left thigh, described as "Flesh," transferred May 19 to General Hospital, White Sulpher Springs (Montgomery), he subsequently returned to duty, date unknown, however he is recorded on a Descriptive List, "forage for one horse," for the period August 20, 1863 till October 15, 1864, paroled at Appomattox April 9, 1865
