Melton (Milton) M. Cragwall, age 11, appears on the 1850 Census of Goochland County, Virginia, residing in the household of Stephen J. Cragwell, age 50, carpenter and Elizabeth Cragwell, age 44.

Enumerated as Melton M. Crawford, age 21, carpenter, on the 1860 Census of Goochland County, Virginia, residing in the household of Elizabeth Crawford, age 53. His older brother Olynthus (Olinthus) appears on both enumerations.

Olinthus Cragwall, age 36, miller, appears on the 1870 Goochland Census, residing with Elizabeth Cragwall, age 64.

Possibly (?) the man enumerated as "Milton Cogell" on the 1870 Census of Deer Lodge, Montana Territory, age 30, carpenter, born in Virginia. Residing in the household of John O'Neil a cabinet maker from Scotland.
