Cold Harbor

A day or two after the blood repulse of June 3rd, Meade asked his corps commanders if there was any chance of successfully launching an assault in their front. The corps commanders asked the divisions commanders.

Hancock, commanding II Corps, asked Barlow and Gibbon for their opinions.

Barlow's was very forthright and can be found in OR Vol. 36, Pt. 3, pp. 646-647.

I am looking for Hancock's summary to Meade of the statements made to him by Gibbon and Barlow. I seem to remember reading it a few years ago.

Any help will be appreciated.
