Ms. Saunders,

I have some information about Stephen Preston Saunders, my great, grand father. My grand father was Bayman Saunders, who was a son of Stephen and his second wife Lucinda Francis Piles Saunders. According to information that I found on Ancestry.com, Stephen enlisted in Company C, 57th Infantry Regiment on 17 Apr 1862. The same record indicates that he was mustered out on 25 May 1862 because he was over 35 years old. Would be glad to email you a copy of what I have on Stephen if you like. I have a copy of his mariage certificate to Francis Piles that I could also share with you. Please provide your email if these would be of interest.

Also would you have any information on Stephen's father, John Rollins Saunders. I have the following:

Born: 1802, Campbell County, VA
Married: 20 Dec 1824, Bedford County, VA
Died: 13 Apr 1884, Franklin County, VA

Any infor on the parents of Joh Rollins Saunders that you could share with me would be appreciated?

David Vaughan
