Re: ATTN John Chapla-42nd Va.Inf.

Good Morning John,

I know William Robert served in the Civil War, he was a Private & was captured. He is buried at Noffsinger-Styne-Pico cemetery in Pico, VA which is in Botetourt Co., his mother Rachel Boblett & father Henry Taylor were not married & there is a paternity suit filed in Bedford Co. in 1829 for support of William Robert which Rachel received. I find this fact fascinating because in that era women had no rights or anything, so I think it took amazing strength to do that. I have a copy of the paternity suit but it is very difficult to read due to the old hand writing. I know Rachel's parents were John & Lydia Cox & she had 4 or 5 brothers. I don't know how long Rachel lived in Va. but it appears she eventually went back to Ohio, I can't find any records of her after she married John Seymour around 1834. I will let you know more as I find it.

Kim :)
