The Virginia in the Civil War Message Board

Looking for Cooper's from Va./W.Va.

I'm Looking for my Cooper relatives that lived in the Hampshire and Mineral
Co, "Old" Virginia., (present day) West Virginia., territory...

I'm not sure, but I was told that my G.G.G.G.Grandfather George Washington
Cooper might have fight for the Confederacy, and "possibly" his sons too...

George Washington Cooper was born around 1806, in Hampshire Co., "Old" Va/
W.Va; and died in 1885, in Romney, Hampshire Co., W.Va.

(His Sons) were named: Sharon (b) abt. 1825, Salem (b) abt. 1829, Laneus
"aka" Lanines or Lanyous (b) abt. 1831, Ignatius (b) 1834 - who did fight
for the 51st Virginia Militia, Co. F., and Magus "aka" Meggus (b) abt. 1835.

Any helpful information, would be appreciative...

Thanks,
Ms. Rebecca Wilson
