Sydnor Snapp enlisted as a Private in Company C, 12th Virginia Cavalry March 1, 1862 at Winchester, absent without leave from October 1, 1862 through April 1864 when recorded as dropped from rolls, arrested by 1st New York Cavalry May 2, 1864 in Fredrick County, Virginia, 29 year old Farmer, resident of Fredrick County, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio prison camp May 16, paroled and transferred to City Point, Virginia February 25, 1865 for exchange, admitted to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, Va March 6, 1865, Debilitas, discharged on 30 day furlough March 8, paroled April 17, 1865 at Winchester, Virginia, his parole certificate is signed Charles S. Snapp
