Don't know about a Ft Mahone reconstruction but as a young boy in the late 1950's or early 1960's I visited Ft. Hell, also known as Fort Sedgwick. It was a tourist site on US 301 (Sycamore Street)featuring a wooden log structure that served as vistor's center, museum, and gift shop where relics and weapons were for sale. Portions of the fort were reconstructed portions of the fort. I still retain souvenir photos and the tri-fold brochure from the place. The brochure talks about Ft. Mahone being opposite Sedgwick and nickmaned Fort Damnation and the picket lines in between being known as Purgatory.
