John Henderson, 7th Va Cav

John Henderson was a Captain who enlisted on June 26, 1861. The 7th Virginia Cavalry History by Armstrong states that he was shot by one of his own men, Pvt James A. Miller, through the shoulder. Miller was executed and Henderson was transferred to the 12th Virginia Cavalry. His name is mentioned twice in McDonald’s History of the Laurel Brigade. Once as assisting in the destruction of bridges in the 1863 Jones Raid into West Virginia and secondly, as a cavalry company commander under Ashby in Ashby’s capture of Harper’s Ferry. He took the Oath of Allegiance on May 28, 1865 in Charlestown, Virginia.
Can anyone tell me any more about the shooting incident or his cavalry company?
Thanks.
